Er. S.S.Harichandan, a Kshyatriya (Warrior) by caste has developed his interest towards the physical fitness and fighting arts since his childhood and started his Karate training under Late Dai Sensei Dr. Moses Thilak ( 8th Dan Shito Ryu Karate do & WKF ) in Madras, Tamilnadu during his Engineering studies.
Born on 1st January 1962, Master Harichandan blessed to Shri Basudev Harichandan & Srimati Urmila Harichandan. . Being a Graduate Engineer ( Civil ) he served to the Odisha State Govt. in OB & CC Ltd. for about 10 years only and prefers to dedicate full time for the promotion of various Martial Arts in India as an Internationally acclaimed Master in various Martial Arts.
He is happily married to Mrs. Puspa Harichandan ( M.Sc. ), Director-Shaolin Sports Pvt. Ltd. ,who is a former National Champion in the game of DARTS and taken the sport seriously to promote in Odisha. They are blessed with two sons Pruthwiraj( 5th Dan Black Belt ) and Yuvraj (4th Dan Black Belt ) both recipient of Rajeev Gandhi Pratibha Award for remarkable achievement in Martial Arts.

Master Harichandan is credited to produce the “Youngest Black Belt of India” Master Varun Mahapatra from Odisha at the age of below Five years both in Karate & Kickboxing in January 2004, who received the "National Child Award" by Hon'ble Union Minister, HRD Shri Arjun Singh in August 2005 in New Delhi.
Master Harichandan is a highly experienced and Internationally qualified Referee / Judge in major Martial Arts such as Wushu, Kickboxing, Ju-Jitsu & karate Do from India, an unique achievement of any Martial Artist, of course a pride for the nation. He has undergone Karate training by many International repute Grand Masters namely Soke Ken-ei Mabuni ( Shito Ryu Karate do), Soke Hoshu Ikeda ( Jyoshimon Shorin Ryu Karate do ), Soke Minoru Higa ( Kyodokan Shorin Ryu Karate do ), Soke Kunio Miyake ( Shuko-kai Karate do ) , Soke Yoshimi Inoue( Inoueh Shito Ryu).
He has also studied & trained in KALARI PAYATU & PAIKA AKHADA the ancient/traditional Martial Arts of Kerala & Odisha respectively and sincerely trying to revive and popular those in International arena. He was the Chief Judge for Wushu Association of India(WAI) from many years and produced the First ever NIS SAI Coaches Team of 10 nos. as the Chief Coach appointed by Sports Authority of India (SAI) in 1999.
As a Rotarian since 1990 Rtn. Harichandan, ( MPHF ) served as the President of Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar in 1999 and got the opportunity to serve the victims of SUPER CYCLONE as well as to the Community in general. He is the Founder of the PUMAS Rotaract & Interact Clubs to provide the an opportunity to the members of his organization Pumas International in the field of Social Works with the objectives of Rotary International. His entire family is dedicated in Rotary activities.
As a pioneer he introduced and established KICKBOXING in India since 1993 and founded the National Kickboxing Federation i.e. IAKO as a member of the International Federation WAKO. He is credited to introduce and promote WAKO in INDIA through IAKO by having its activates from Kashmir to Kanyakumari through its Affiliated Member Associations including Armed/Police Forces. Today KICKBOXING is one of the most popular Combat Sport in India and considered as a priority for Police/ Armed Force Services other than sports career.
Due to some unavoidable circum stances Master Harichandan opted to leave WAKO in 2013 and became the sole Representative of WKA as its National Director for India, but could not keep up his activities and resigned soon.
Master Harichandan dedicated his life for the promotion of various Martial Arts sports in India and overseas.
